Austin Housing & Planning Committee approves minutes and adopts 2026 meeting calendar

The Austin City Council’s Housing & Planning Committee approved minutes from its Sept. 16, 2025 meeting and adopted a 2026 meeting calendar during a special called session Jan. 27.
Chair Madison said a motion to approve the minutes was made by council member Siegel and seconded by council member Ellis; she announced the ayes carried unanimously and the minutes will be filed with the city clerk in accordance with City of Austin code.
The committee then considered HPC item 002, a proposed calendar of meeting dates for 2026. Madison read the proposed dates aloud (Feb. 10; Apr. 14; June 2; Oct. 13; Dec. 1), and said she was operating under the assumption that members present had no conflicts. Council member Ellis verbally confirmed his support. Madison stated the calendar was adopted unanimously, noting committee member Vela was absent and that dates remain subject to future change.
The committee spent the remainder of the meeting identifying items for future agendas before adjourning at 10:46 a.m.
