The Newport City Council added and approved a third-class liquor license application from VFW Alfred Pepin Post 798 on its Jan. 5 consent agenda and removed the Gardner Park Sewer Siphon Project public meeting from tonight’s agenda because the item required a two-week warning; the sewer item will be rewarned for Feb. 2.

At its Jan. 5 meeting the Newport City Council added an application from VFW Alfred Pepin Post 798 for a third-class liquor license to the consent agenda and approved it as part of the consent package. The presiding official summarized the consent items — minutes, AP warrants, payroll warrants and liquor licenses — and the council adopted the consent agenda by voice vote.
Separately, the council removed Item 4 (Gardner Park Sewer Siphon Project) from the evening’s agenda after staff reported the public meeting had been added prematurely and required two weeks’ advance warning; the item was directed to be rewarned and rescheduled for the council’s Feb. 2 meeting.
