Board approves several routine appointments and procedural items

At the Feb. 1 meeting the Milford Board of Aldermen approved routine appointments and consent business.
The board unanimously appointed Nancy Forville to the Fair Rent Commission (term to expire 12/30/2027) and reappointed Taft Clark as the MEA union alternate on the Pension and Retirement Board. Aldermen questioned whether resumes are provided for union recommendations; staff said reappointments from unions are typically recommendations and do not always include resumes, but the mayor’s office agreed to provide resumes going forward when available.
The board also approved the Jan. 5 minutes with a corrected reappointment expiration date, authorized budget memo transfers (including prepaying a GPS subscription from vacant wages to obtain a discount), and approved refunds totaling $11,427.89. Those routine motions passed unanimously.
What’s next: Appointees will be sworn in by the city clerk and budget transfers/refunds will be recorded in city financials.
