Council on Aug. 7 recognized Village Pharmacy as the Greater Harrison Chamber’s Business of the Month and heard from organizers of the Harrison Family Fun Run, who reported community fundraising and outreach plans.
Jeff Biddle accepted the Business of the Month recognition and described Village Pharmacy’s long local history and plans to provide free vitamins to children ages 2 to 12 in an upcoming program. “We love to serve the community,” Biddle said, recounting the store’s lineage going back to the post‑Civil War era.
Organizers of the Harrison Family Fun Run described the event’s goals and results. Tammy, speaking for the run committee, said they had raised and would donate $3,634 to the mayor’s fund, crediting corporate and local sponsors. The mayor thanked the volunteers and noted the event proceeded safely despite not shutting streets for the course; the organizers emphasized advance safety planning.
The presentations also included announcements for upcoming local events: Music on the Avenue, the Greater Harrison Pet Festival and the historic Harrison Market. Council members praised volunteer efforts and encouraged continued Chamber and business participation in community programming.
These agenda items were informational; no council action was taken beyond the recognitions and thanks.
