Colorado House recognizes 4‑H Day, announces Smart Act and committee hearings

Representatives used the morning session to recognize Colorado 4‑H Day and visiting 4‑H members. Representative Johnson noted 4‑H's presence in all 64 Colorado counties, quoted the 4‑H pledge and thanked students and leaders participating at the National Western Stock Show. "We are very proud to support the students," Representative Johnson said.
Members announced committee scheduling and hearings: Representative McCormick and Representative Miller said the Agriculture, Water and Natural Resources Committee will meet at 1:30 p.m. in Room 107 to hear from Dora on the Pet Bridal Care and Facilities Act. Representative Woodrow announced that the Joint Finance Committee will meet 15 minutes after adjournment in the Old State Library for a Smart Act hearing with presentations from the Office of State Planning and Budgeting, the Joint Budget Committee, Department of Treasury, PERA and Department of Revenue, and that public testimony will be permitted.
Representatives also recognized the Montezuma County 4‑H club for traveling more than 400 miles to attend the session and highlighted community outreach activities, including a student auction at the National Western Stock Show. Several members distributed informational materials and invited colleagues to events at the Capitol later in the day.
