Board approves 'Warren on Tour' Europe trip for spring break 2026

The Warren Township High School District 121 Board approved a proposed international social-studies trip, "Europe's Mediterranean Coast," for spring break 2026 after a presentation by Tim Van Laningham, a Warren social studies teacher.
Van Laningham said the program has run multiple international trips (including to Japan and Argentina) and that the district uses EF Tours as its travel provider. He said the current per-student price is about $3,900 and that EF Tours typically raises prices in early October; he estimated the eventual price to families could be near $4,100.
"We're gonna continue to use the the tour company that we've used, for now 10 years. The name of the company is EF Tours," Van Laningham said. "In terms of cost, this tour right now is... around $3,900. It will probably rise... so it'll be around $4,100."
Van Laningham said the program includes travel-insurance options through a Global Protection Plan and that families may opt into upgraded coverage. He also described chaperone staffing: the program provides one free adult chaperone for every six travelers and typically draws chaperones from Warren faculty.
The board moved to approve the trip; the roll call recorded six yes votes and the motion carried.
