Warren Township High School District 121 adopts FY2025 budget; board approves trip and several contracts

At its Sept. 24, 2024 meeting the Warren Township High School District 121 Board of Education adopted the district’s Fiscal Year 2025 budget following a public hearing and a presentation of fund balances and planned transfers.
Budget presenter Miss Green reported that education-fund revenues are estimated at $69,970,471 and said revenues exceed expenditures by about $1,095,901 in the FY25 plan. She told the board the district plans transfers that could include moving up to $11,000,000 from working cash into capital funds to support a locker-room addition the district currently estimates at about $16,000,000.
"That big increase is good for us because we're looking at adding an addition of the locker room... estimated to be about $16,000,000," Miss Green said during her presentation.
The adoption motion described required public notice and fixed the district fiscal year as July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025. The roll call recorded six yes votes and the motion carried.

Board members and staff emphasized the district’s continued attention to capital needs and financial reserves even as the budget shows a modest operating surplus in the education fund. The superintendent and staff said the roofing bid will be opened Nov. 12 and the construction contract will be brought back to the board for an award in December.
The board took no vote on the proposed high-deductible health plan or HSA contribution policy at this meeting; staff will return with formal plan documents and an amount for board approval.
