Warren Township HSD 121 approves consent agenda, MTSS handbook, roof contract, pickup truck and budget resolution

The Board of Education of Warren Township High School District 121 approved a series of motions at its Jan. 20 regular meeting, including personnel items, policy and several procurement awards.
The board approved the consent agenda, which included personnel recommendations, minutes from the Jan. 6 Committee of the Whole, board scholarships totaling $4,000, an FBLA field trip to San Antonio (June 2026) and bills dated Jan. 20, 2026 totaling $5,967,720.73. A board member said they "vote negative" on the retirement of Chris Green but did not pull the item; the roll call returned affirmative votes and the consent agenda carried.
On policy, the board approved the district's Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) handbook for the 2025–26 and 2026–27 school years after brief remarks praising the document as a tool for families and staff.
On facilities procurement, Chris Green reported that bids for 2026 roof work (phase 4) were opened Dec. 16; CE Crowley reviewed the bids and Knickerbocker Roofing and Paving submitted the low base-plus-alternate bid of $3,665,965. The board moved, seconded and approved award of the project to Knickerbocker.
On transportation procurement, bids opened Jan. 7 yielded one qualified bidder after a second packet arrived late and was disqualified; Vogler Motor Company's bid of $48,836.72 was accepted and the purchase approved.
Finally, the board approved a resolution to begin preparing the 2026–27 budget. All motions were approved by roll call vote and recorded as carried.
No ordinances or statutes were cited during the votes; board members asked staff to continue work on intervention and planning priorities.
