Sean Deason, a Farmington Hills resident and electronic music artist, used his public comment to praise the city’s support for the arts and to note a recent award.
"I've lived in Farmington Hills for 12 years," Deason said, adding that the community "really values the arts" and that public murals and other visible works make the city more vibrant. He said the city's support for the arts is evident "everywhere you go."
Deason described a 35-year career as a musician, DJ and techno producer and said he was presented with the 2025 Arts in Residence Award for electronic music, calling the recognition "a great honor." He said he believes he is the first techno/electronic artist to receive the Artist in Residence Award in Farmington Hills.
He also listed commercial and broadcast uses of his music, saying his work has been used by Ford Motor Company, Nike and Volkswagen and has appeared on MTV's Real World and Entertainment Tonight. Deason said he continues to make music and is "working on composing music for a film," and closed by noting he is "also your neighbor."
