Clay County opens bids for multiple structure repairs; staff to review
Summary

The Clay County Board of Commissioners conducted a public bid opening May 27 for bridge and structure repairs, including scour protection for Structure 14-103-090.
Officials read bid totals from the screen and recorded multiple offers from area contractors. Examples listed during the opening included Argo Excavating at $202,811.80, a displayed low figure of $148,951.55, bids of $150,958.05, $171,684, $153,046.41, $181,110, $170,521.02, $215,855.55 and $244,110.45 among others. Commissioners did not award contracts at the meeting; Brad from All Tech will review the bids and return in a couple of weeks with a recommendation.
Chair noted there will be another bid opening in two weeks for an additional project. Commissioners observed that some projects will require coordination for road crossings and easements with township supervisors and affected landowners before work begins.
Next steps: staff (Brad/All Tech) to validate bid bonds and specifications, produce a recommendation and bring an award recommendation to the board at a future meeting.
