The Addison SD 4 Board of Education approved a series of routine and standing items at its July 17 meeting.
The board approved the minutes of its June 26 meeting and then approved accounts payable for July 2024 totaling $4,360,076.28 (Education fund $875,452.43; Operations and maintenance $161,904.75; Transportation $131,877.05; Capital projects $3,190,259.48; Student activity $582.57). The board then approved payroll for June 2024 totaling $7,967,325.15.
On personnel, Doctor Lohse presented hires, resignations and one retirement; the personnel report listing new licensed hires, resignations and an ESP hire was approved on a motion by Serge and second by Zack.
The board approved the district’s annual list of hazardous crossings for District 4 as required by state process; board members discussed opportunities to coordinate with the village on traffic controls but noted the village retains authority over signage.
Finally, the board approved the appointment of special conflict counsel regarding potential action to terminate the intergovernmental agreement (IGA) with the Addison Park District. District leadership said the 1999 IGA governed construction and joint use of a gymnasium at Army Trail School and asserted the park district had not met obligations under the agreement; the transcript does not include a response from the park district.
Each action was approved by roll call during the July 17 meeting.
