District administrators recommended Tasha Young of the RADA department for the New Mexico School Boards Association Student Achievement Award for her work building a districtwide DASH planning template and supporting schools’ data use; the board approved the nomination unanimously.
Janice Chenault and Renee Saucedo presented the administration’s recommendation that Tasha Young be Rio Rancho’s nominee for the New Mexico School Boards Association Student Achievement Award.
Chenault and Saucedo told trustees Young, who works in the district’s RADA (research, assessment, data and accountability) department, has helped schools comply with the state DASH school-improvement process, developed an interactive template to house anecdotal and required evidence for 90‑day plans, and supported data-driven instructional improvement across elementary and secondary schools. “She takes something that is typically high stress and reduces that stress for me by a 100% through her presence, expertise, and commitment to helping schools succeed,” one administrator told the board.
President Galbraith moved to approve the nomination and Rebecca Murray seconded; the board voted in favor and the motion carried. District officials said the nomination will be submitted to the New Mexico School Boards Association per the association’s award process.
