The Mahomet-Seymour CUSD 3 Board of Education took a series of procedural and approval votes at its Jan. 20 meeting.
Agenda: The board approved the meeting agenda by voice vote.
Consent agenda and donations: The consent agenda — including minutes for the Dec. 15, 2025 meeting, bills, treasurer's report, personnel items, surplus athletic equipment and overnight trip requests — was approved by roll call. Donations totaling $35,755 were reported (line items included multiple anonymous gifts, activity-fund donations and a $12,000 wrestling-mat donation); the board approved acceptance of the donation list.
Website contract: Administration recommended approval of a website-contract package with Final Site. Trustees discussed terminating the existing contract and a one-time site-cost discount that had been offered at $6,500 if signed by Dec. 31, 2025; administration said the vendor agreed to extend the discount into January. The board approved the contract by roll call.
Bus lease: After an extended presentation, the board approved a lease with Midwest Transit (see separate coverage).
Tax agreement: The board approved a tax agreement with Mahomet Investment Group on final consideration, with no changes from the prior discussion.
Calendar and budget authorization: Trustees approved the proposed 2027–28 school calendar and authorized the CSBO (Chris Taylor) to begin work on the tentative fiscal-year 2027 budget.
Closed session: The board voted to enter closed session to discuss appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance or dismissal of specific employees and individual student matters; the board said it would end the public YouTube feed for the closed session.
