Oxford introduces new downtown economic director and appoints events coordinator
Summary
The mayor introduced Pam Patron as Oxford’s new downtown economic director and announced Giovanni Ford will assume the paid events coordinator position after volunteering for about 18 months; both were welcomed by commissioners and attendees.
At the July 7 meeting the mayor introduced Pam Patron as Oxford’s new downtown economic director. "Hi. Nice to meet you all," Patron said and told the board she looks forward to helping move downtown projects forward.
Shortly thereafter the mayor announced that Giovanni Ford will assume the city position of events coordinator after performing the role voluntarily for roughly a year and a half. Ford thanked the commissioners and said he looks forward to continuing event work with the city.
Both introductions were made during the board’s regular business; no formal vote was recorded at the July 7 meeting for these appointments.
