Speaker 1 asked Representatives serving as liaisons to the Appropriations Committee to check the AOE budget request and confirm whether funding for the compact appears in the agency's budget lines. "I've been told by AOE that the funding for the Education Commission of the States compact is included in their budget," Speaker 1 said, and asked colleagues to verify that claim by locating the bookkeeping appropriation line.
On the special‑education census grant (Section 7), legislative counsel said the language remains unchanged from the draft circulated on Friday. Committee members agreed to gather the outstanding clarifications and stakeholder testimony before advancing the miscellaneous bill further.
