Board approves annexation sufficiency, sets February hearings; adopts property‑code and social‑district ordinances

At its Jan. 13 meeting, the Oxford Board of Commissioners recorded several procedural and ordinance votes.

Annexation: The board accepted the city clerk’s certificate of sufficiency for an annexation petition by JSW Partners (about 85 acres backing Horner Siding Road) and voted to call a public hearing on the annexation at the Feb. 10 meeting. A related conditional rezoning public hearing by Northpointe Development was recessed to Feb. 10 to allow developer presentation.

System development fees: The board set a Feb. 10 public hearing to receive citizen input on proposed revisions to the system development fee structure.

Property code and social district: The board adopted the 2024 International Property Maintenance Code (item 5.5) by voice vote with no discussion. The board also voted to expand the social district by roughly two blocks, naming the mapped area and noting that future expansions may be returned to the public for comment.

Consent agenda and minutes: The board approved the consent agenda, accepted the November financial report and approved December minutes after adding an October financial report correction.

Motions of record: The meeting record includes motions to recess or reschedule public hearings (recess public hearing to Feb. 10), to accept the certificate of sufficiency (annexation), to set hearings (annexation, SDF), and to adopt ordinances (International Property Maintenance Code, social district expansion). All motions carried by voice vote unless otherwise noted.
