The LaSalle Finance Committee covered routine administrative business and a small community donation during its meeting. Members approved: allowing Alderman Laverre to attend remotely, the committee minutes from 01/19/2026, and a $300 voluntary donation to the Illinois Valley Baseball League.
The motion to permit remote attendance was moved and seconded on the floor and carried by voice vote. Alderman Reynolds moved to approve the minutes from 01/19/2026 with a second from Alderman Deebos; the chair called for a voice vote and recorded 'Aye.' Alderman Dimas moved and Alderman Jepsen seconded a $300 donation to the Illinois Valley Baseball League; the committee approved the donation by roll call with several aldermen voting 'Aye.' One committee member noted the donation was made in the expectation that more league games will be scheduled in LaSalle this year.
Committee members also reviewed unpaid invoices and identified a vendor entry error: a LeafVac repair item appearing under "Bound Tree Medical" should instead reference Bonnell Industries. Staff acknowledged the discrepancy and said they would fix the vendor entry. Members discussed a larger repair invoice (about $7,407) for a 2022 LeafPro unit (clutch assembly listed at $5,100 and a V-belt at $300) and described clutch failures as a wear item that can result from overloading. One attendee said the city will consider changing field practices or additional training to reduce repeated breakdowns.
The meeting concluded with a motion to adjourn that carried by voice vote.
