Trustees approve consent agenda and multiple contract awards including sewer lining, tree care, fleet upfit and software

At its meeting the Village of Deerfield Board of Trustees approved the consent agenda and a series of procurement and budget items across public works, planning and finance.
Key approvals included:
- A resolution to continue GIS services with Municipal GIS Partners in an amount not to exceed $96,129.24. - A purchase of landscape plant material from Red's Garden Center (waiver of bidding) not to exceed $30,000 and a one-year extension for landscape maintenance with Milieu/Malue Design (C.O.L.A. adjustment applied). - A sewer-lining contract with Visu-Sewer not to exceed $450,000 to line approximately 1,500 feet of 24-inch sanitary sewer (I&I reduction and cost-avoidance alternative to full replacement). - One-year extensions/waivers for Parkway tree removal and trimming with Advanced Tree Care (budgeted at $75,000 each) citing performance during recent storm response. - Authorization to upfit Public Works truck No. 604 (Sowber Manufacturing) for approximately $126,005.48; combined acquisition costs remain under budget. - A turf-maintenance contract award to Patriot Property Services not to exceed $40,755. - Purchase of a trailer-mounted portable generator for wastewater/pump-station response (low quote from Burris Equipment; budgeted funds available). - Approval to contract with OpenGov for an asset-management and public-facing work-order system (first-year cost ~$87,993) with staff proposing to use sidewalk-program funds to cover an overage. - An ordinance amending the 2024 budget to account for actual expenditures in water and sewer funds.
Nearly all items passed on voice and roll-call votes after brief presentations from staff explaining scope, vendor history, budget status, and expected benefits.
Board members thanked staff for preparation and highlighted that many of the purchases and contract extensions are routine, budgeted items intended to maintain infrastructure and services.
