Superintendent Connor and academic staff presented PM2 assessment gains across grade bands, a 94.3% overall graduation rate, notably large ELL gains, and credited dashboards, targeted 'impact reviews', job-embedded coaching and $13 million in grant-funded supports for the advances.
Superintendent Connor and academic leaders presented midyear (PM2) assessment and accountability data and attributed gains to a district focus on data-driven supports and teacher development.
Connor said the district is trending up on accountability points and set an aspirational goal of 866 points; he reported a current overall graduation rate of 94.3% and said ELL graduation rose from 68% to 90% over two years. The presentation showed growth at multiple grade levels in ELA and math when comparing PM2 this year to last.
Missus O'Day and the academic services team described the district's three-legged approach—customized impact reviews, data dashboards to triangulate academic/attendance/discipline information, and high-quality observations with targeted feedback. They said those systems are supported by grants and partnerships: district staff reported bringing in roughly $13 million in external grant funds over the last two-and-a-half years focused on teacher development, job-embedded supports and contracted expertise.
Miss Manelli (elementary) and Dr. Green (secondary) outlined how impact reviews produce tailored push plans, how the district uses dashboards to identify students and teachers for targeted supports, and how grants fund substitute coverage, curriculum creation, tutoring and stipends for teacher-led professional learning. The district also described a literacy-for-all initiative focused on first grade and a comprehensive-support grant (about $235,000) awarded to three schools for deeper interventions.
Board members praised the data and supports, asked about sustainability and staffing for the job-embedded model, and were told that most supports are budgeted for the next two years and some grant funds offset additional staffing costs. The district said it will continue monitoring PM3 outcomes and refining supports ahead of state accountability calculations.
