Hard work, perseverance,” Reese said, adding that this was the team’s first year under the new junior-high county championship rules and that the group had overcome adversity to succeed.
Council members said they looked forward to following the players’ progress through middle and high school. The recognition concluded with council members and staff taking photos with the team.
The meeting then moved on to the rest of the agenda.
