The Temecula Community Services District voted 4‑0 on Aug. 12 to place four portable restrooms at identified park and trail locations to improve restroom access. Public Works maintenance superintendent Stacy Fox told the board the subcommittee recommended sites with existing parking and destination parks — Temecula Creek Park, Butterfield State Park, Sirena Hills Park and the Murrieta Creek Trail at the Winchester Road entrance.
Fox said the fiscal impact for adding those four units is $5,952.64 and that the cost has been appropriated in the current year’s budget. She said the city’s vendor, Diamond Environmental Services, could deploy the units within about a week of authorization. The board discussed longer‑term permanent restroom projects at Long Canyon and Vail Ranch parks; staff said permanent facilities are tentatively scheduled for construction beginning in January with openings hoped for around spring break.
A motion to approve the placements passed unanimously; no public comment was received during the district presentation.
