Committee discusses festival accessibility, legislative priorities and budget working group

Commissioner Diaz raised an item on accessibility for the Texas Tribune Festival and Trailblights but said she had not yet connected with the festival planner and asked to follow up at a later meeting. Several members agreed the issue remains important and can be discussed when the commissioner has made contact.

Chair Kelly opened discussion on identifying priorities to share with Austin's government relations team for the 2027 Texas legislative session and for Congress; she asked members to think about legislative items and said the committee will set the item on the next meeting's agenda for further discussion.

Commissioner Chang reported that the joint inclusion committee has changed its meeting time to 6 p.m. and noted a budget working group that currently has only two members; commissioners were invited to join the budget working group and to prepare budget priority recommendations for consideration in February.
