Town Clerk Jim Hagedy presented a revised schedule of fees for the Clerk's Office, based on a survey of surrounding towns and internal review. Hagedy said many fees had not been raised in more than eight years and that modest increases would simplify operations and modestly increase revenues. He noted key changes including:
- Certified document copies: increase in per-copy fees and a capped sliding scale for certain certified copies used frequently by residents. - Correcting errors on vital records and other administrative charges: raised to reflect staff time and regulatory complexity. - Kennel licenses: required by the state (Ollie's law); fees set by the town and tied to annual inspections.
Hagedy estimated the revised schedule would raise roughly $67,000 per year and asked the board to make the schedule effective March 1, 2026. The board moved and approved the clerk's proposed schedule on a roll-call/motion; the Select Board minutes record the motion and subsequent voice vote to adopt the schedule effective 03/01/2026.
