After no public comment, a motion to approve the minutes was seconded and the roll call returned four ayes and no nays; the minutes were accepted.
Later the board reviewed the Sheriff's Department Oversight Board 2025 Q2 report, which the staff indicated is scheduled for submission to the sheriff and the Board of Supervisors as mandated by San Francisco Charter 4.137(b)(5). Board members discussed staffing constraints and the impact of not having an inspector general on the board’s capacity to conduct oversight. A motion to accept the Q2 report was made, seconded by Member Ortiz, and approved by roll call with four ayes and no nays.
Recorded votes on the actions show Members Afua Mango, Allen, Ortiz and Sue voting aye on the minutes and on acceptance of the Q2 report. The board noted that HR will provide an update on recruitment for the inspector general position at the next meeting.
The meeting also included a land acknowledgement for the Ramaytush Ohlone and an in memoriam for law‑enforcement officers who recently died; those items were delivered as part of the opening remarks. The board adjourned at 3:45 p.m.
