The Box Elder City Council held its annual internal elections during the June 17 meeting, unanimously appointing Mike Knight as council president and Richard (Rick) Davis as council vice president.
Beauchamp nominated Knight for president; the council approved the appointment by roll call. Richard Davis was nominated and approved as vice president. The council then received recognitions from Public Works Director Bruce Martin: Kathy Bertschner earned a Public Works professional management certification and Kenny Moore earned the public fleet professional certification. Martin noted regional significance for the fleet certification and highlighted that the management certification is rare for women in the state.
Both leadership appointments and the staff recognitions were completed without objection, and the council adjourned at 7:41 p.m.
