The Bow Select Board held a public hearing and adopted changes to the town cemetery fee schedule and related rules at its Jan. 13 meeting.
The chair read proposed changes to town ordinance section 124‑4, including new rates for grave openings (for example, $825 Monday–Friday and overtime rates of $1,150 on Saturday, $1,250 on Sunday and $1,300 on holidays) and new cremains fees. No members of the public spoke during the hearing. A board member moved to adopt the proposed fee changes and a voice vote was taken; the chair recorded the ayes and the motion passed.
Later in the agenda the board approved edits to ordinance 25‑06 to prohibit consumption of alcohol in town cemeteries and approved a cemetery after‑hours access permit. A board member moved to adopt the ordinance edits; that motion and the permit endorsement were approved by voice vote.
The board did not attach additional conditions to the fees beyond those contained in the ordinance and directed staff to implement the revised rates and the after‑hours permit process.
