As part of organizational business on Jan. 23, the Charles County delegation held a voice vote to retain Delegate Deborah Davis as chair for the session.
Delegate Patterson moved to continue Davis as chair; a motion was seconded and the delegation approved the nomination by voice vote. After the vote, Davis thanked members for their support and said she had been willing to hand off leadership but would continue for the session.
The delegation also reviewed a staff poll on legislative bond initiatives and the top four preliminary LBI priorities reported by Arielle Moore were: Lions Camp; Wacoos Lodge 1053; Providence of Maryland; and Waldorf Maryland Elks Lodge 2421. Members asked staff to provide summaries for any member who had not completed the survey.
Members agreed to hold "district night" on the second of the proposed dates (staff were asked to finalize logistics); the delegation set the event time as 6–8 p.m. and asked for slideshow contributions from members. The group also set recurring meeting dates (after the Southern Maryland delegation): Feb. 6, Feb. 20, March 6 and March 20.
A motion to adjourn was made later in the meeting, seconded and approved by voice vote.
