The Washington County Cemetery Commission voted unanimously to retain its current leadership and to set meeting dates for 2025.
During a recorded meeting, members moved to keep David Johnson as president; the motion was seconded and approved without opposition. The commission also discussed coordination with the auditor’s office to reserve a courthouse room and to ensure contractor materials are submitted in time for county budget hearings.
Commissioners settled on a schedule of meetings — May 26, July 27 and Oct. 26 — each proposed for 4:30 p.m. at the courthouse. Members emphasized the timing was intended to give the contractor, Andrew Davidson, time to assemble a budget and for the commission to forward materials to the county auditor and commissioners. Commissioners noted potential conflicts in May (graduations, Memorial Day) and agreed the chosen dates were the best compromise.
The commission asked staff to publish the schedule on the county website and to confirm reservations with the auditor’s office. No additional policy actions or amendments were made during the vote.
The commission adjourned after completing the schedule and other agenda items.
