Mister Tucker, the bond project presenter, told the board the district is treating the high‑school and middle‑school campuses as a single operational job while retaining separate design and scope work. He said user‑group and steering‑committee meetings are validating program needs and helping staff identify where classroom and square‑footage adjustments are required.
The district intends to limit heavy construction to about three buildings each summer to protect subcontractor capacity and keep projects manageable, Tucker said. He described a biweekly budget‑tracking cadence with architects and estimators so the district can monitor cost changes as design details are finalized. Officials plan a comprehensive cost check‑in in April before seeking the first large set of package approvals.
Playground work and some HVAC alternates were pushed into the summer window in hopes of completing them by the end of the construction season; gym work and larger additions will follow in later packages, district staff said. Tucker said the district will publicize the finalized timeline to staff and families and post materials on the district website.
Board members were reminded that the facility committee — listed in the presentation as Sarah Sanders, Sheila Meggers, Mr. Hirsch, Micah and Rocky Bousnitz — will make many of the detailed, in‑the‑weeds decisions and will bring major options to the full board for review.
The superintendent said the district will continue to provide monthly bond updates to the board and community. The next major estimate and the site guaranteed‑maximum‑price (GMP) package are expected after the April cost review.
