Commission representatives described training the district’s student-support staff and bus drivers and noted plans to offer state‑mandated training to additional staff; presenters said they aimed to reach all district employees through ongoing partnerships.
Clerk announced the public hearing on NEOLA policy update 26.1 but reported no registered commenters; the hearing was closed with no public testimony and no vote at that time. Staff presented an expulsion recommendation for a male student (DOB 01/21/2011) from Zephyrhills High School; the board moved, seconded and approved the expulsion. The consent agenda and both proclamations (Black History Month and National Human Trafficking Prevention Month) were approved by voice vote.
After the proclamations were read earlier in the meeting, attendees and board members took photographs with guests. The board noted the existence of an oversight committee for the referendum and other citizen-review processes when discussing transparency for future actions.
