Parks committee approves license allowing Beamon Toyota naming on donated aquatic video board

The Parks and Recreation Committee voted to approve Resolution 2 26 17 allowing the Williamson County mayor to sign a license agreement with Beamon Toyota that will give the company naming rights to a donated Nevco aquatic video/timing board.

Speaker 4, a parks staff member, told the committee the board had already been approved for acceptance at a prior meeting and that because the unit will bear a sponsor name the county must execute a license agreement before the boards can be mounted. "All we're doing is asking you to accept this because the terms of the accepting this donation ... means that we have to enter into a license agreement," the parks staff member said.

Committee members asked whether the county would charge a licensing fee. Speaker 2 asked, "Is there an amount that they pay for that licensing?" Speaker 3 replied the sponsor donated the board and the county planned a nominal fee, citing a proposed amount of "$1,000 a month." The parks staff member said the boards were "probably gonna be delivered by the end of the week," but added installation also requires county commission approval.
