She described an outreach calendar that included staff and student focus groups, community nomination windows and parent-teacher conference displays. The open nomination window is scheduled to close the Friday after the meeting, and staff plan to narrow the list to about 10–15 options for a subsequent community survey.
Dr. Savage said district staff held Lincoln Irving and Willard staff engagement events Oct. 1, student lunchtime focus groups and community nights to solicit input. She said the administration plans additional staff walkthroughs, FAQ updates for staff and parents, and a targeted communications push around the Illinois school report card release. The district intends to begin planning an open house at the Western campus in February and to provide further updates before winter break.
Board members and the student representative praised the engagement efforts and noted enthusiasm among parents and students who have seen floor plans and interactive displays. Dr. Savage also announced a forthcoming website refresh to improve district communications and described a new monthly PACE-goal progress update to appear at Committee of the Whole meetings.
The board received the report without formal action; staff will continue the community-nomination and vetting process in the coming months.
