Lincoln Way Community High School District 210 finance officials presented a tentative 2025 property-tax levy on Nov. 20 and the board voted to approve the levy resolution required to move the process forward.
Finance staff explained the levy uses a CPI (2.9% as the in‑arrears figure) for existing taxpayers and adds estimated new construction and other valuation changes. Based on tentative November county assessor and treasurer data, staff estimated the district would levy for about $92,500,000 in operating property-tax revenue for 2025 — a 4.57% increase overall. Staff emphasized that the CPI portion (2.9%) applies to existing taxpayers and that the remainder of the increase reflects new property added to the tax rolls.
The presentation included EAV and new-construction estimates provided by county assessors and a brief question-and-answer period with board members about the source of those estimates. The board passed the tentative levy unanimously; the final levy adoption is scheduled for the December meeting and will be filed with Will County (and the small portion in Cook County) before state timelines.
