Kevin Mullen, regional director for Special Olympics, and local coaches said the district now fields teams across elementary, middle and high schools and reported more than 40 Special Olympics athletes districtwide. Presenters broke those figures down: 19 in the Mini Maroons (elementary), 12 junior maroons and 14 at the high school, plus nine unified partners at the high school level.
