The Lincoln Way CHSD 210 Board of Education on Oct. 16 approved invoices totaling $3,845,154 for the period Sept. 19–Oct. 16 and received a treasurer's report outlining the district’s cash position and transportation procurement plans.
A board member asked whether DLA architect professional services on the invoicing report related to summer life-safety HVAC work; district staff confirmed the fees are for 2026 and summer 2026–27 life-safety design and said the cost will be split across Central and East schools.
Dr. Dubeck, presenting the treasurer’s report, said September revenues totaled $47,000,000, monthly expenses were $9,600,000 and the district’s total cash balance on Sept. 30 was $116,900,000 — the fiscal-year high when property tax receipts post. "I do not anticipate the need for interfund loans, thankfully, this fiscal year," Dr. Dubeck said. He reported that 35.8% of budgeted operating revenues have been received and 25.1% of operating spending has occurred year to date.
On transportation, staff said 32 buses are ending their lease; updated bid specifications recommend purchasing rather than leasing and reducing the planned purchase from 32 to 28 buses based on repair capacity and reserves. The administration also proposed adding three white activity buses per school and buying five Sprinter vans (capacity up to 10 passengers) — potentially procured through the Sourcewell state contract and separate from the main bus bid.
Board votes on the consent agenda, invoices, the treasurer’s report and subsequent items were recorded as unanimous during the meeting. Staff said the bus-bid specifications will be finalized and the results brought back to the board at a future meeting.
