Bill to let state agencies enter intergovernmental support agreements with military installations reported out of committee

Jace Ponder explained to the Veterans and Military Affairs committee that Senate Bill 24 25 would add state agencies to the list of entities—counties and municipalities—authorized to enter intergovernmental support agreements with military installations.
Ponder said such agreements let local governments provide services (for example, road paving and striping at NAS Meridian) and receive payment from the installation, which can save money for the military site while creating revenue for local partners. "These type of agreements are things for services that are provided to the installation," Ponder said.
Committee members raised no questions during the brief presentation. A motion that the bill title was sufficient to pass carried by voice vote and the bill was reported for further action on the floor.
