The Pleasant Grove Planning Commission voted to recommend that the City Council approve a rezoning request from Scott Dent to change about 1.98 acres at 1381 North 600 West from Rural Residential to R‑110.
Planner Jacob Hawkins told the commission the subject parcel contains a single-family home and accessory buildings and is surrounded mainly by single-family properties. "The general plan supports the proposed rezone, as this area is located in the single family low density designation," Hawkins said, and staff recommended approval to allow the Makin' Dreams development to continue and potentially create additional lots in the future.
The applicant, Scott Dent, stated his name for the record and said he lives in Pleasant Grove. "I don't think there's really much to say," Dent said, indicating no substantive neighborhood opposition was present in the hearing. After the presentation and the applicant's remarks, a commissioner moved and the commission voted to forward a recommendation of approval to the City Council, adopting the exhibits, conditions and findings in the staff report.
Next steps: the Planning Commission's recommendation will be transmitted to Pleasant Grove City Council for final action at a subsequent council meeting.
