North Penn SD awarded $575,000 DCED grant for Pandell boiler, auditorium HVAC work

Mr. Linsky told the committee the district received a Public School Facility Improvement Grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development to fund the Pandell project, which includes boiler replacement, domestic hot‑water work, and new auditorium air‑conditioning condensing units.
"The grant share of the project was 75%. The original project total...was $768,800. And we did get just about that full 75 percent, awarded to us, which is $575,000," Linsky said. He explained the grant is cost‑reimbursable: the district will award contracts, perform work, then submit reimbursement requests up to the grant share.
Linsky said the project fit the grant's parameters (projects in excess of $500,000) and that the pre‑bid meeting was scheduled for November 4; staff will update the application and award amounts if final bid results change the project cost.
Next steps: staff will proceed with the pre‑bid schedule, finalize bids, and submit updated figures and reimbursement documentation to DCED in line with the grant terms.
