North Penn School District elects new president and vice president at reorganization meeting

Kathy McMurtry was elected president of the North Penn School District board at the reorganization meeting on Jan. 16, succeeding the outgoing president after a unanimous voice vote.
The board first named Jonathan Casa temporary president after a nomination from board member Christian Fusco and a second by the chair. Later in the session Tina Stoll nominated McMurtry for the one-year president term; Doctor G seconded the nomination and the board approved the motion unanimously. The gavel was handed to President McMurtry.
Julianne Ramach was elected vice president after a nomination from Christian Fusco and a subsequent voice vote to close nominations. The board also reappointed Mr. Resch to the Joint Operating Committee following a brief nomination and voice vote.
Board administration clarified a small set of committee chair changes tied to the officer transitions: Christian Fusco vacated the finance committee chair and Missus Grama was named finance chair; personnel committee membership was adjusted to three members (Kathy McMurtry, Julianne Ramach and Doctor G) to reflect the leadership changes. Doctor Bauer explained the committee changes were primarily a result of the new president and vice president assignments.
All elections at the reorganization meeting were conducted by open nomination and voice vote. No roll-call vote tallies identifying how each member voted were stated on the record during the meeting; speakers announced motions and the board verbally indicated 'aye' or 'motion passes' for the items recorded.
The meeting adjourned after confirming those appointments and noting a brief technical issue with the YouTube stream before the board moved to its scheduled action meeting.
The board read the audience-of-citizens statement at the start of the reorganization meeting and affirmed that, per board policy 903 and Pennsylvania Sunshine Law, speakers must state their name and municipality when addressing the board.
