Public commenters press North Penn board on spending, programs and 'group think'

An unidentified speaker said earlier proposals produced strong community opposition and urged the district to show measurable progress on new hires and program evaluations; the speaker also raised worries about electrical-system failures and student behavioral supports at Walton Farm.
Jason Lanier Lansdale, identified at the microphone, pressed the board on its voting record: "Since 2017, the number of votes... it's well over 4,000 votes... Do you know how many no votes there have been since 2017? ... There's been 4, 4 no votes," he said, accusing the board of "group think" and saying members often vote yes without robust discussion.
A board member responded that committee meetings — finance, F&O and ECI — include substantive debate, and that the board often refers items back to administration to be fixed before a full vote. "We send things back to administration to fix them before they come before us for the full vote," the board member said.
The public-comment period concluded before the meeting moved to officer elections.
