KIPP Texas previews Nov. 13 San Antonio board meeting: CEO metrics, organizational health, audits and academic plans

Moon said the meeting will open at 5 p.m. and include public comment and a mission moment recognizing a student recommended by San Antonio school leaders; the student and family are expected to attend. The CEO report will present progress monitoring on key performance indicators: the percentage of seniors scoring 3 or higher on AP exams; seniors meeting college-readiness benchmarks (ACT score of 21 or higher, SAT benchmark noted in the transcript); daily attendance; average budgeted enrollment; staff retention; and the fiscal-year 2025 financial sustainability goal.
Moon told the committee the board will receive a financial report and will be asked to approve the audit. The agenda also includes an organizational health initiative: board members who attended recent community meetings will give reflections, public comments are expected to address the recommendation, and staff will present a response addressing frequently raised questions; any vote on the organizational-health recommendation is planned for December. Academic progress reports and targeted improvement plans — which require board approval — will be presented; Rona will lead a college-focused deep dive on ACT, SAT and AP strategy. Laura will present an intruder-detection audit before the board goes into closed session.
The committee adjourned to executive session under Texas Government Code provisions for attorney consultation, personnel deliberations and deliberation over real property before returning to the open meeting and adjourning at 6:20 p.m.
