KIPP Texas executive committee previews Feb. 5 board meeting, unanimously approves Nov. 4 minutes

The KIPP Texas executive committee on Jan. 13 approved the Nov. 4, 2025 executive committee meeting minutes and reviewed the Feb. 5 full board meeting agenda, officials said.
"We will be in Austin for our February 5 board meeting," Jenna Moon, KIPP Texas chief of staff, said as she outlined the agenda. Moon said the meeting will begin with a mission moment honoring three students and will include the CEO report, a financial report, required Texas Academic Performance Report (TAPR) discussion and an academic midyear deep dive.
Moon listed the specific academic and operational measures the full board will consider in February: K–2 reading goals; STAR math and reading results; the percentage of students scoring a 21 or higher on the ACT and 10 or higher on the SAT; average daily attendance (ADA); adult basic education (ABE) and staff-retention metrics; and financial sustainability measures. She also said the agenda includes a financial report from Sun and a TEEA intruder-detection audit, with any findings to be shared in open session.
Before the agenda review, the committee considered a motion to approve the Nov. 4, 2025 executive committee minutes. Jean Austin moved to approve; Ethan Phillips seconded. The chair called for the ayes, members voiced "Aye," and the motion passed unanimously.
The committee confirmed staff and legal counsel would be present for the board meeting and noted a closed-session preview would be part of the Feb. 5 agenda. The full board meeting is scheduled for Feb. 5 in Austin.
