City Attorney Rich Padilla reported to the council on a proposed amendment to the city manager’s employment agreement required to be reported under Government Code §54953(c)(3). He said the two primary changes were an increase in the city manager’s base salary to $252,564 (the presentation included a correction clarifying that the amount was annual) and the introduction of an annual CPI adjustment provision.
Council members expressed support for the amendment; Council member Joel Fajardo moved the item and it was seconded. A roll call vote recorded Council members Garcia, Salorio, Fajardo and Vice Mayor Mendoza voting yes; Mayor Celeste Rodriguez was recorded absent. The motion passed.
City staff will complete the contract amendment paperwork, update payroll as appropriate, and file the required government‑code notice.
