Pulaski County Health Department reports vaccine outreach, diapers drive and jail programs

The department completed a diaper drive that yielded 11,000 diapers, with distribution planned to begin the following week through the nursing department (limits apply). Guffey also discussed work with the jail (yoga program and providing inmates with birth certificates and shot records upon release) and noted staff roles including vital records administrator Maggie Chek and school liaison Marie Roth.
Commissioners asked about vaccine requirement changes; Guffey said new CDC guidance (released Jan. 5) changed the number of required routine childhood vaccines and that the health department would post updated guidance to its Facebook page and public channels.
