Council reselects Spanish Fork Fire & EMS as ambulance provider for four years

City staff reported that an RFP for 9‑1‑1 ambulance and interfacility transfer services produced a single submission from Frontline EMS (Boise, Idaho). After evaluating cost, quality and access, staff recommended continuing to use Spanish Fork Fire & EMS as the city’s ambulance provider and bringing final selection to a public meeting as required by state statute.
Resident Darren Miller offered a firsthand account of the department’s response to a house fire and praised both fire and EMS personnel for professionalism and care. Following discussion, Councilman Took moved to approve the resolution selecting Spanish Fork Fire & EMS as the ambulance and interfacility transfer provider; Councilwoman Beck seconded. The council approved the resolution by roll call vote with all recorded votes in favor.
The resolution retains Spanish Fork Fire & EMS as the provider for the next four years. Staff said the procurement complied with state statute and that proposals were reviewed in work session prior to tonight’s vote.
