URA approves Silver Box public-art cycle and $20,000 Cedar Street sculpture purchase

Sosnes also presented a recommendation to purchase a permanent sculpture for the southwest corner of Cedar Street and 2nd Avenue. She said the commission would use $20,000 in SIRRA downtown arts funds and expected a $2,500 match from an Idaho Community Foundation grant (Gretchen Heller Trust). The board approved allocating $20,000 from downtown arts funds for the sculpture; staff noted the downtown arts fund balance and confirmed sufficient committed funds to support the request.
Commissioners thanked the arts commission for its work; Sosnes praised prior support from the URA.
