The Hammond City Board of Zoning Appeals opened its meeting and conducted officer elections for 2026. Kathleen Hill accepted a nomination and was elected chair on a 5–0 roll‑call vote. The board subsequently nominated and elected Roger Brock as vice chair, also by a 5–0 vote.
Hill responded to the nomination by saying she "would be more than glad to accept the nomination." After officer elections, the board considered minutes from Oct. 28 and Dec. 2. Staff asked that the minutes be tabled to allow time to assemble materials; a motion to table both sets of minutes until Feb. 24 passed by the same unanimous margin.
These procedural items were taken at the start of the agenda before new business. The elections will be reflected in the official meeting minutes and the tabling of minutes places those records on the Feb. 24 agenda for formal approval.
