Council confirms committee appointments; Measure S oversight meeting and Harbor Pointe ribbon-cutting scheduled

The Crescent City Council approved 2026 council board and committee appointments and heard city-manager updates on Measure S and local housing projects.
Members discussed filling an alternate seat on the Pelican Bay State Prison Citizens Advisory Commission and a seat on the Golden State Risk Management Authority (GSRMA) board. Council agreed to ask Council member Tinkler whether she would serve and confirmed use of alternates when regular appointees are unavailable; the council voted to approve the appointments (motion moved and seconded; roll call showed affirmative votes from Council members Altman, Greenholm, Chamblin and Mayor Wright).
City manager announced the Measure S oversight committee will meet Feb. 10 and previewed an official ribbon-cutting for Harbor Pointe Apartments on April 10. The project was supported by a $5,000,000 CPLHA grant and includes 26 housing-authority vouchers for seniors, and Danco Builders will attend the ceremony. City manager also recognized a longtime former city manager, Michael Young, with a lifetime-achievement award at a recent chamber dinner.
No controversial policy actions were taken; appointments were handled as consentable items and staff will follow up with appointees and the oversight committee.
