Lawrenceburg approves paving contract, ambulance purchase and concrete pad; several items require council appropriation

Lawrenceburg officials approved several infrastructure and procurement actions on Feb. 2, including a downtown paving contract, an ambulance purchase and a storage pad for the electric department.
Austin, presenting the city’s CCMG 2026 package, told the Board of Works the project covers ADA sidewalk ramps and asphalt replacement on sections of High, Vine, Mary and Short streets and that the low responsive bidder was "Dave O'Meara Contractors" at $448,910.50, with a local match of $89,782.10. The board voted to award the CCMG contract to Dave O'Meara.
Chief Myers reported the fire department sought a stock ambulance rather than a custom build. Two bids arrived: McQueen Emergency at $364,849 and Penn Care at $395,000. Myers said McQueen was the lowest responsive bidder and the board approved awarding the ambulance purchase and authorized a letter of intent to reserve the unit until delivery later this year.
On the utilities side, the Utility Board approved a Baker Tilly MSA renewal to continue periodic bank-reconciliation reviews and signed off on a recommended contract revision for clarity on names and terms. Utility staff also recommended a 60-by-60-foot, 6-inch concrete storage pad to move spare transformers out of the substation to meet the National Electric Safety Code. The board approved the low bid from Nittenburg Concrete for $32,400.
Several of the approvals either require or were described as contingent on additional appropriations. Austin notified the board the speedway LED‑lighting replacement (Musco quote, $325,000) has no money currently budgeted and will be included as an additional appropriation for the council to consider at the next meeting.
The meeting closed with routine approvals of claims and payroll, and the boards adjourned.
