"The Virginia Literacy Act very specifically identifies the screeners that will be used to identify students who need additional support," a division staff member (Speaker 12) said, explaining that the state will require use of the revised PALS assessment or other state-identified screens and that reading plans must be developed and regularly monitored with input from reading specialists and parents.
